New pool cage & replacement
Engineered, permitted and inspected. Mansard, gable and dome, in white and bronze.
A family company in Sarasota since 2017, named after the founder’s two children. He is a civil engineer with more than twenty years in construction, and he trained every crew that works here. Screen work in Florida attracts a lot of operators with a truck and no license — we are the other kind.
Where the name comes from
The two H’s are our children’s initials. That is not a marketing line — it is why the standard is what it is.
Our founder is a civil engineer with more than twenty years managing residential and commercial construction, first in New York and then in Florida. In 2017 he brought that to Sarasota and started 2H, and he named it after his two kids — so every pool cage, lanai and paver patio that leaves here is held to what he would accept at his own house.
It is a family company serving families, and it shows up in the least glamorous part of the work: the anchor schedule, the wind-load calculation, whether the deck can actually hold what the drawings say it will. That is the engineer talking, and it is part of why our cages are built to stand up to Florida’s demanding weather.
It also shows up in what we talk people out of. A large share of the homeowners who call about a new cage leave with a rescreen or a refinish instead, because that is what the aluminum actually needed. That costs us the bigger job. It is also why the phone keeps ringing.
What we put on your house
Screen comes through our supplier here in Sarasota, and each material carries its manufacturer’s warranty.
Made in the USA and the standard on most of our work. 20/20 is the tighter weave that stops no-see-ums near water. Carries Phifer’s own warranty.
Polyester when the span is wide or the sun is brutal. Sunscreen where glare and heat are the problem. Clear vinyl where the goal is blocking wind and rain, not insects.
Florida Glass is vinyl-laminated on one side: you see out, the neighbor does not see in. Pet screen is the heavier weave for the bottom row where the dog leans.
The detail nobody quotes on and everybody pays for later. Plated screws rust out at the anchors within a few Florida seasons and take the connection with them. We use stainless, on the coast and inland.
How we work
These are the questions worth asking every contractor who quotes your cage — not just us.
Ours is Florida Certified Residential Contractor CRC1334065, and you can verify it with the DBPR in a minute. Ask who is pulling the permit — if the answer is "you, as owner-builder", you are the one carrying the liability.
Our aluminum, screen and paver work is done by 2H employees, trained in-house by our own engineer — not day labor hired for the week. Same faces from the estimate to the walkthrough.
General liability and workers’ compensation. Certificates on request, and HOAs ask for them routinely — if a contractor cannot produce one the same day, that tells you something.
A written scope with every estimate, a scheduled start date, and a three-year labor warranty plus the manufacturer’s warranty on the screen. Nothing here depends on a handshake.
What we do
We are not a general remodeler who also does cages. It is all we do, which is why we can tell you in five minutes which of these your cage needs.

Engineered, permitted and inspected. Mansard, gable and dome, in white and bronze.

One panel or the whole cage. Phifer fiberglass, no-see-um, pet-resistant, polyester.

Wash, rust treatment, hardware, refinish. White back to white, or white to bronze.

Screening a covered lanai, extending a shallow one, or a screen room on a slab.

Screened at dusk, fully open the rest of the time. Six mesh options.

Base, edge restraint and joint sand — the part that decides if it stays flat.
