Pool cages in Palmetto. North of the river, same crew.
Palmetto sits across the Manatee River from Bradenton and gets the same crew, the same quote and the same schedule. Older cages toward the water, brand-new ones out by Artisan Lakes and Trevesta — the two ask for different work.
Palmetto, specifically
Two kinds of Palmetto cage: the one by the water and the one that came with the house.
Toward Terra Ceia and Snead Island the air is salt and the cages are older. The screen goes first, but the fasteners and the deck anchors are what decide whether a refinish is worth it. We check the connections before we quote anything cosmetic.
In the newer communities — Artisan Lakes, Trevesta, Silverleaf, Eave’s Bend — the cage usually came with the house and is under ten years old. What people call about is a torn panel, a door that will not latch, or making a builder-grade cage bigger and better looking.
Palmetto is Manatee County, so permits and inspections for structural work run through the same office as Bradenton. Where there is an HOA, we prepare the architectural package.
What we do in Palmetto
Four jobs, in the order worth considering them
Cheapest first. It is the order that has kept us busy since 2017.
Panel repair
One or two torn bays with an obvious cause. If the rest of the screen is tight, this is a single visit.
Full rescreen
When the mesh tears at the spline on its own or sags to the touch. Phifer fiberglass, no-see-um, pet-resistant or polyester.
Painting & restoration
Sound frame, tired finish. Wash, rust treatment, hardware, refinish — white or bronze.
Replacement
When corrosion has gone through the anchors or a storm took it. Engineered, permitted, inspected.

How much does pool cage repair cost in Palmetto?
Quoted individually. A single torn panel is one visit; a full rescreen depends on the size of the enclosure and the mesh you choose. Near the water, the state of the fasteners and anchors moves the number more than the screen does.
We measure on site and the written estimate lists what is included.
Do you cover Terra Ceia and Snead Island?
Yes. Both are a normal day for us, and both are places where we check the connections before quoting a refinish, because salt air works on the anchors long before it touches the mesh.
Does Palmetto require a permit for a pool cage?
For a new enclosure or a structural replacement, yes — a Manatee County building permit with engineered drawings, then inspection. Rescreening a sound structure does not need one.
We pull permits under CRC1334065 and meet the inspector.
My builder cage is only a few years old. Can you make it bigger?
Often yes. A larger footprint needs new engineering and usually new footers, and the HOA has to approve the new profile. We prepare that package.
How long does the work take?
A panel repair is usually one visit. Where a permit is involved, most projects finish within 20 business days of the permit being issued.
