Pool cage rescreening in Sarasota. When patching one bay a season stops making sense.
We have done more than 80 full rescreens at Sarasota addresses since 2022, from small spa cages to two-story enclosures. Every panel comes out, the spline is replaced, and the frame is checked by an engineer on our team before the new screen goes on.
Rescreening in Sarasota
The south and west faces go first. Sometimes that is all you need.
Sun decides how fast mesh ages. On a Sarasota cage the south- and west-facing walls and the roof go chalky first. If the north side is still tight, we can price the worn elevations alone and leave the rest.
The mesh you pick depends on where you live. Near the bay and the keys, owners often go to Phifer 20/20 no-see-um on the water side. Inland, in Gulf Gate, Bee Ridge or Palmer Ranch, standard 18/14 or an upgrade to polyester screen is the usual choice.
A rescreen is the moment to check the frame. With the panels out, the engineer on our team looks at the anchors, the fasteners and the spline grooves. If anything needs structural work, you hear it before the screen goes back on, not after.
What we do in Sarasota
Choosing the screen for a Sarasota rescreen
Every panel out, new spline, the frame checked by an engineer on our team, and the screen you choose back on.
Phifer 18/14 fiberglass
The common pool cage weave, in charcoal. Good visibility and the usual choice for most of the cage.
Phifer 20/20 no-see-um
A tighter weave that stops midges, worth it on the bay, canal or preserve side.
Polyester screen
Stronger than fiberglass and holds its shape on big panels and wide bays.

How do I know it is time to rescreen?
Press the screen with your palm. If it has gone chalky, gives more than it used to, or tears at the spline when you touch it, the material is finished. Our 10 signs article goes through it.
What does a rescreen cost?
It depends on the size of the cage, the height, the screen type and the condition of the spline grooves. See our rescreening cost guide; we measure on site and send a written, itemized price.
Who checks the work while it is being done?
An engineer on our team follows every job step by step — from the first measurement and the quote to the final walkthrough with you. On permitted work that includes the drawings, the permit and the inspection.
Can I rescreen only part of the cage?
Yes. If one or two elevations or the roof are worn and the rest is tight, we price those alone and match the mesh.
What warranty do you give?
Our work carries a 1-year labor warranty, and the materials we install carry the manufacturer's own warranty. The written terms come with every estimate.
