Screened pool cage with bronze aluminum frame over a pool and spa on Florida's Gulf Coast

Motorized retractable screens in Lakewood Ranch. Screened in the evening, open the rest of the day.

Lakewood Ranch homes tend to have wide covered lanais, outdoor kitchens and big views over lakes and fairways. A motorized screen drops into the opening at the touch of a button and disappears into its housing when you want the view back.

Why they suit Lakewood Ranch

Wide lanais, west-facing light and a view you do not want to frame.

The openings are wide. Newer Lakewood Ranch homes often have a lanai that runs most of the back of the house. Very wide openings are usually split into two units side by side, which is more reliable and easier to service than one oversized screen. We measure on site before quoting anything.

Afternoon sun on the lanai. On lots that face west over a lake or a fairway, a sunscreen fabric takes a large share of the heat and glare off the lanai. On the preserve side, an insect mesh tight enough for no-see-ums matters more.

The community has a say in how it looks. Housing color, fabric and where the box mounts usually go through the community’s design review. We send the product details the committee asks for, and an engineer on our team follows the install step by step.

Questions

Questions from Lakewood Ranch homeowners

Not here? Call (941) 961-0162.

Which fabric should I choose?

Insect mesh if bugs are the problem, sunscreen if heat and glare are, privacy screen if the lanai faces a neighbor. Phifer 20/20 is the tighter insect weave for lake and preserve lots. We bring samples to the estimate.

What happens in high wind?

You retract it. The screen rolls up into the housing and there is nothing left in the opening for the wind to push on.

Who checks the work while it is being done?

An engineer on our team follows every job step by step — from the first measurement and the quote to the final walkthrough with you. On permitted work that includes the drawings, the permit and the inspection.

Does it need HOA approval?

Often yes, because the housing is visible from outside. We send the product, color and mounting details the committee usually asks for. See HOA and condo work.

What does a motorized screen cost?

Every opening is quoted on its own: width, height, fabric, control and mounting all change the number. We measure on site and send a written, itemized estimate.

What warranty do you give?

Our work carries a 1-year labor warranty, and the materials we install carry the manufacturer's own warranty. The written terms come with every estimate.
