Rescreening in Venice

An older cage can look new again without touching the structure.

The before-and-after below is a typical Venice job. Same white frame, new screen, and the enclosure looks different from the street. If the aluminum and anchors check out, there is no reason to pay for more than that.

While the panels are out, the frame can be repainted. About one in four of our Venice rescreens also included painting the cage, because that is the one time the whole frame is easy to reach.

Near the water, many owners change the mesh. We have rescreened Venice cages in no-see-um fiberglass and in polyester, sometimes on the roof or the water side only, and in standard 18/14 everywhere else. You choose; we tell you what the trade is.

Questions

Questions from Venice homeowners

Not here? Call (941) 961-0162.

Do I need to replace the cage, or only the screen?

On most older Venice cages, only the screen. We check the aluminum and the anchors with the panels out, and if something structural needs attention we tell you before going further.

Should I change to no-see-um screen?

If you are near the water or a preserve and midges get through at dusk, it helps. The trade is a little less airflow, so many owners use it only on the side that needs it.

Who checks the work while it is being done?

An engineer on our team follows every job step by step — from the first measurement and the quote to the final walkthrough with you. On permitted work that includes the drawings, the permit and the inspection.

Rescreen or repair?

If a few panels are torn and the rest is tight, repair. If the screen is chalky and tears at the spline on its own, rescreen. See repair in Venice for the smaller jobs.

What does a rescreen cost?

It depends on the size, the height and the screen you choose. See our rescreening cost guide; we measure on site and send a written, itemized price.

What warranty do you give?

Our work carries a 1-year labor warranty, and the materials we install carry the manufacturer's own warranty. The written terms come with every estimate.
